What Payment Methods Are Supported?

You pay online through a single secure payment gateway that accepts three instruments — a Credit Card, a Debit Card or PayPal. Whichever card you use must be cleared for international transactions, and every amount is displayed in US dollars.

The distinction worth holding onto is that these are three ways to pay, not three separate payment services. One gateway handles all of them; at the pay step you simply choose the instrument that suits you and complete the transaction there.

A single process exam gateway for card or PayPal

A Credit Card and a Debit Card are both accepted, and so is a PayPal balance or a PayPal-linked account — but they route through the same checkout rather than three different providers. Because the charge is taken in US dollars, the figure you approve is the dollar price shown against the exam, whatever the card or account behind it. There is nothing to set up in advance beyond having one of those three ready to use.

Cards must clear an international project management exam transaction

The one requirement to check is that your card is permitted to make an international transaction. A card locked to domestic use, or one your bank has not enabled for cross-border payments, can be declined at the gateway even when funds are available. If a payment does not go through, that permission is the first thing to confirm with your card issuer; a card cleared for international use, or PayPal, avoids the problem entirely. A different currency on the card is handled separately, and that is covered in the next answer.
