Junior Agile Project Manager Mock Exam

Yes, with one condition: you want proof of Scrum basics before anyone has handed you a Scrum team. The IAPM Certified Junior Agile Project Manager (CJAPM) asks for no project experience, takes 40 questions in 35 minutes, needs 65% and never expires. It will not make you a Scrum Master overnight, but it is a cheap, honest first line on a CV, and it works best for people who have not yet worked in a sprint.

Who gains from a junior Scrum certificate, and who gains little?

The CJAPM is built for a narrow audience, and IAPM says so plainly on its own page for the certificate: agile project management novices, students and people interested in a future career in agile project management. Project experience is not required. That makes the certificate a poor fit for a ten-year delivery lead and a good fit for almost everyone else standing at the door of an agile team.

Career changers

If you are moving from teaching, operations, support or testing into agile delivery, the hardest part of the first interview is vocabulary. Recruiters screening for a junior Scrum role want to hear that you know what a Product Backlog is and who owns it. A certificate does not replace a story about a team you supported, but it tells the reader that you have already spent time with the terms and passed an independent test on them.
