PMI-RMP Exam Format, Five Domains and How to Prepare

Updated on 3 October 2026. What’s new: the exam is 115 questions in 150 minutes across five domains: strategy and planning, identification, analysis, response, and monitor and close

The PMI-RMP is not a project management exam with a risk chapter attached. It is 115 questions in 150 minutes about one job: finding, sizing, answering and tracking risk on projects. PMI's outline gives 68% of the paper to strategy and planning, identification and analysis, and only 13% to response, so candidates who jump straight to mitigation lose ground.

Who is the PMI-RMP written for, and who should look elsewhere?

The credential describes a person whose daily work is the risk register: a project risk manager, a PMO analyst who owns risk reporting, a project manager who chairs the risk review, or a planner who runs schedule-risk simulations. PMI's outline says the exam was built from a role study of practitioners who work in predictive, agile and hybrid settings, and that all three approaches turn up across every domain rather than in one corner of the paper.

That shapes who benefits. If risk is a side task you handle twice a quarter, the broader PMP is usually the better first credential, because it treats risk as one slice of a much wider job. If you spend most weeks asking what could go wrong, how likely it is and who owns the answer, the RMP is the credential that says so in one line on your CV.

ISTQB CTFL Certification: Is It Really Worth Anything?

Updated on 23 September 2026. What’s new: rewritten for the CTFL v4.0 syllabus, whose six chapters now end with Test Analysis and Design, Managing the Test Activities and Test Tools.

Two words on a CV, ISTQB certified, survive a keyword screen that discards most other testing training. That is the honest value of CTFL, and also its limit. It is worth the USD $229 to anyone who needs a recognised testing vocabulary and a way past that first filter, and worth very little to a test lead who already has the job, the scars and the evidence to show for them.

ISTQB CTFL certification cover with a tester and the question is it worth it

This article takes the question seriously rather than selling an answer. It sets out who gains from the ISTQB Certified Tester - Foundation Level, who gains almost nothing, what the exam costs once training and study time are counted, what the current CTFL v4.0 syllabus actually asks of you, how the 40 questions are distributed, what a hiring manager does and does not read into the line, and how to prepare without losing two months to it.

Who does the ISTQB CTFL certification actually help, and who should skip it?

The credential is not neutral. It moves some people a long way and others barely at all, and the difference is not talent. It is whether you currently have a way of proving that you understand testing as a discipline rather than as a set of habits picked up on one product.

ECBA Exam Preparation Tips: How to Pass on Your First Try

Updated on 8 October 2026. What’s new: the ECBA now follows IIBA's nine-domain blueprint with 50 questions in 75 minutes, and needs no work experience, degree or application.

Most ECBA advice online was written for an older exam, so the first step to passing on your first try is to study the current one. IIBA now tests nine domains, drawn from The Business Analysis Standard and the BABOK Guide, in 50 situation-based and standard multiple-choice questions over 75 minutes. The fee is $395, and no work experience is asked for.

That opening matters because the Entry Certificate in Business Analysis is the IIBA credential people most often try to pass with a borrowed study plan. A friend's notes, a forum thread from a few years back or a summary of BABOK chapters can all feel reassuring and still point at the wrong material. This guide is built on IIBA's own documents, namely the exam blueprint (version 1.1), the ECBA Handbook dated May 2026 and the sample questions, all read in October 2026. It explains what is on the paper, how the marks are spread, how to practise, what exam day involves and which pieces of old advice to drop.

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator: Career Path After CSA

Passing the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) exam proves you can run a ServiceNow instance; it does not choose your next job for you. The credential opens administrator, senior administrator and consultant roles, and it is the usual first step towards the developer and implementation specialist exams. This guide sets out the roles, the next exam by job, a 90-day learning plan and a 12-month route.

The old advice for this topic was a four-step story: get a degree, take courses, get a job, keep learning. It is not wrong, but it stops exactly where a CSA holder starts. Most people reading about the CSA already work near ServiceNow. They have a login, a few months of tickets and a manager who has just asked whether they plan to certify. What they need is a map of what happens after the pass email arrives.

That map is what follows. It is written for people who are studying for CSA now, people who passed recently and are wondering what to do with it, and team leads deciding which certification to fund next. Exam facts appear once, in the table below; everything else is about where the credential can take you and how to spend the months after it.

What does the CSA ask of you, and what does it cost?

Before you plan the next move, be sure of the one you are making now. The figures below come from our exam records, and the exam's scope is set by the blueprint that ServiceNow publishes on its own site.

PSPO I Certification: How to Pass the Product Owner Assessment

A popular belief says the PSPO I is a test of writing good user stories. It is not. Scrum.org's Professional Scrum Product Owner I assessment checks whether you understand how a Product Owner maximizes value inside Scrum. You get 80 questions, 60 minutes and a pass mark of 85%, the fee is $200 USD per attempt, no course is required, and the certification never needs renewing.

That belief matters because it shapes how people study. Candidates who prepare by polishing backlog-writing technique often walk into questions about empiricism, Sprint cancellation, stakeholder influence and forecasting, and discover that the assessment is really about accountability and judgement. This page was first written several years ago and has been rebuilt around the assessment Scrum.org runs today, with every detail checked on Scrum.org's own pages in September 2026. It covers what the certification proves, how the test is set up, the focus areas and topics behind the questions, the Product Owner rules that trip people up, a four-week preparation route and a plan for the sixty minutes themselves.

PMI-SP Certification: Who Needs It and How to Pass

Updated on 23 September 2026. What’s new: PMI's eligibility rule now counts months, not hours: 40 months of project scheduling with a secondary degree, 24 months with a four-year degree.

Open the schedule you are running this week. If it carries an approved baseline, a critical path that other people make decisions on, resource calendars that argue with each other and a change log that would have to survive an audit, you are already doing the work the PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certifies. The credential is not a course in drawing bar charts. It asks whether you can build a schedule, defend it, and keep it honest while the project moves underneath you.

What follows is written for the people who keep that file open all day: planners, schedulers, PMO analysts and the delivery managers who own the dates. It covers who the credential genuinely suits, what PMI's five performance domains ask of you, the eligibility rule that stops more applications than the exam stops candidates, what a sitting costs, how to revise using the scheduling tool already on your desk, and what changes at work once the letters sit after your name.

CIS-ITSM Exam: Domains, Prerequisites and Cost Explained

Updated on 1 October 2026. What’s new: prerequisites corrected: ServiceNow now lists CIS Data Foundations as required before you register, and the exam is booked through Pearson VUE.

CIS-ITSM stands for ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - IT Service Management. The exam has 60 multiple-choice questions, runs 90 minutes, costs USD $450 and reports only Pass or Fail. Three quarters of the marks come from three areas: Incident, Change, and Service Catalog and Request Management, at 25 percent each. This guide covers all six domains, the prerequisite and a study plan.

The credential is for people who set up ServiceNow ITSM for an organisation rather than just use it: consultants, partner engineers and senior platform owners who decide how incidents are prioritised, how changes are approved and how requests are fulfilled. The exam is therefore less about where a button is and more about which configuration choice fits a described business situation.

One detail changed since this article was first written. ServiceNow now asks candidates to hold the Data Foundations credential before they register, and exams are booked through Pearson VUE. The sections below explain both, and they show where to confirm the details yourself before you spend USD $450.

GPHR Certification: Who Needs It and What It Tests

GPHR certification banner with a magnifier over a figure block, for a career focused on global HR

Hiring one person in a country where your employer has no legal entity used to be an exception handled by a lawyer. It now lands in an HR inbox most months. HRCI's Global Professional in Human Resources, the GPHR, is the credential built for the person who has to answer that kind of question. It certifies judgement across borders rather than seniority, costs $495 plus a $100 application fee, and is passed on a scaled score of 500.

This guide sets out who the credential is really aimed at, what separates it from HRCI's domestic and international exams, whether your years of experience qualify you to apply, how the paper is built and scored, and what each of its six functional areas expects you to know.

Which HR jobs actually need the GPHR?

HRCI describes the GPHR as "designed for HR leaders with multinational responsibilities, including global strategy and the development of HR policies and initiatives that support organizational growth". The useful test is not where you live or which passport you carry. It is whether a normal week asks you to make a decision that has to hold good in more than one country at once.

That covers a wider group of people than the phrase "global HR" suggests. A regional HR director with three or four countries in scope clearly qualifies. So does an HR manager sitting at headquarters who signs off policy for subsidiaries, a mobility lead who prices and runs assignments, a business partner in a company that has started hiring engineers in four time zones, and an independent consultant advising a firm on its first overseas office.
